Accredited by Engineers Ireland, and the only NFQ Level 8 degree course in Aeronautical Engineering in the Republic of Ireland, UL provides extensive and encompassing coverage of aeronautics, from monitoring of aircraft performance from inside a twin engine turbo prop craft (during Flight Mechanics module) to wind tunnels and manufacturing equipment composites.

Top-scoring students have the option to spend their third year semester at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, or the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA.

CAO Minimum Points Entry 2017: 487

Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) with minimum 6 subjects:

  • Two H5 (Higher Level) grades*; &
  • Four O6 (Ordinary Level) grades*; OR
