Further affirming its position, APU has been named the 2025 Employers’ Choice of University, a prestigious recognition awarded by Talentbank, Malaysia’s foremost authority on graduate employability.
This honour, presented for the second consecutive year, reflects the university’s unwavering dedication to producing industry-ready graduates. It is based on Talentbank’s annual nationwide survey, which gathers insights directly from hiring managers and employers across Malaysia.
APU Graduates Voted Champions in Key Industry Fields
According to the 2025 Talentbank survey, APU graduates emerged as 6 STAR of Employers’ Top Choice in several key disciplines, namely Computing & IT, Animation, Advertising, Finance, and Marketing. APU has also kept its Leadership position in Compting & IT as CHAMPIONS of the Category. This significant achievement underlines APU’s strategic alignment with emerging industry needs and its consistent track record in nurturing high-calibre talent.
The survey’s methodology stands out by relying solely on real hiring data from Malaysia’s leading employers—offering a practical, job-market-centric alternative to traditional academic rankings. The outcome forms the basis of Talentbank’s National Graduate Employability Index (GE Index).
Data-Driven Excellence in Graduate Employability
The GE Index is formulated through a robust three-tiered approach:
- Identifying universities most targeted by employers
- Measuring the volume of graduates hired
- Tracking repeat hiring patterns based on performance
This unique methodology ensures a reliable, data-backed evaluation of institutions that effectively bridge education and employment. Among the prominent contributors to the index are Maybank, CelcomDigi, CIMB, Nestlé, Hartalega, PwC Malaysia, PETRONAS, Public Bank, Sunway Group, and many others.
The 2025 Employers’ Choice of University list was formally unveiled on 23rd April 2025 at EQ Kuala Lumpur, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Datuk Ts Mustapha Sakmud.
APU Leadership Recognised on National Stage
Representing APU at the high-profile ceremony were esteemed members of its senior leadership, including CEO Datuk Parmjit Singh, COO Mr Gurpardeep Singh, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Ho Chin Kuan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Ts Dr Murali Raman, and Senior Director of Student Services and Marketing Mr Muhammad Anis Ur Rehman.
Talentbank CEO Mr Ben Ho praised the efforts of institutions like APU, remarking, “It is encouraging to see the remarkable strides made by both public and private universities in preparing graduates for the job market.”

He further highlighted that in 2024, APU graduates were also Champions and 6 Stars in various categories. This year’s success is a continuation of that momentum.
