The School of Veterinary Medicine (SOV) at Management and Science University (MSU) is the first veterinary school in a private university accredited by Malaysian Veterinary Council (MVC) and Malaysian Quality Assurance (MQA).
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at SOV addresses the rising demand for veterinary professionals through forward thinking approach for animal health, public health and food security. The curriculum is rooted in clinical training, one health principle and field base learning. Student is equipped with knowledge and skill to thrive in diverse veterinary careers.
Students gain real world experience through strong industry partnerships, hands on clinical exposure and global academic linkages. The Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program at MSU is a 5 years professional program structured into 3 phases of preclinical, paraclinical and clinical years.
The first 2 years of preclinical courses includes introduction courses of animal production and health, veterinary anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, nutrition, animal welfare and livestock industry training. The para clinical courses of veterinary pathology, bacteriology, virology, parasitology, and laboratory industry training start as early as the 2nd year but mainly in the 3rd year. The clinical courses of veterinary surgery, veterinary medicine, veterinary diseases, clinical pratice and clinical industry training start as early as the 3rd year into 4th and final years. The final year of 2 semester is focus only in veterinary clinical practice of rotation in the various unit of veterinary teaching hospital.
